30 Day Blog Challenge 14-16

Welcome to days 14-16 of my 30-Day Blog Challenge! This weekend was hectic for me so sadly I wasn’t able to complete these topics on their designated day, but it’s all good because I’m here now, so let’s get into it.

Day 14 – 3 Healthy Habits

I’m only on my 2nd or 3rd month of being diligent with my healthy habits but if I had to choose they’d be:

1.Being mindful of my portion

Before my lifestyle change, my portions were way too big. Now use plates like the one on the right

2. Incorporating more fruit and vegetables into my diet.

3. Cutting out bad carbs & Sugar significantly.

I know there are good carbs, and the natural sugars in fruit don’t hurt, BUT for me personally, I feel like I eat a grain of rice and gain 20 lbs, so I decided to cut them out. Don’t worry, I don’t starve myself of it. I will have a burger with a bun or an ice cream cone, but I no longer keep these things in my house.

Day 15 – Where will I be in 5 years?

Well, I’ll be 33 so by then I’ll further in my career of course. That could be in program managing, Social media managing, or both to be completely honest. I enjoy them both a great deal. If it were up to me, I’d like to be married to my fine ass husband with a kid or two and lastly to just be genuinely happy. At the end of the day, it’s all in God’s hands. He knows the desires of my heart and whatever he sees fit to happen in my life, will.

Day 16 – Thought On Education

Well, it definitely can be better that’s for sure. I think the truth needs to be taught in schools. Right now, they focus on just the grand narrative, giving children the idea that America is this great, beautiful country when it could be a million times better. Don’t get me wrong, it’s okay, but there’s SO MUCH that needs to done.

Additionally, I don’t think a black child should have to wait until February or take an AF. AM. Course in college to learn about their history. The fact that they don’t dive into the richness our past and let children know there were WAY more leaders in our movement, not just MLK and Rosa Parks ( RIP). They should know we were doctors, lawyers, politicians, teachers, etc. and that they ALL have contributed in one way or another.

Well, that’s the end! What are some of your eating habits or How do you feel about our education system? Do you think it needs work and what are some things that need to be changed? Let me know in the comments!

Love Always, JoJo♥
