I’m going to be backtracking a little bit regarding some of the events I’ve participated in because they’re too good not to share.

Anyway, as an adult, it can really hard making friends. I’ve touched on this previously in my post-Shy In A New City- How do you make friends? because long gone are the days when you could walk up to someone and asked them to be your friend, I mean technically you could but they might think you’re weird lol. So let’s backtrack to 6 months ago.
My beautiful friend Zanetta from my college days is a travel agent and wanted to take a trip with a bunch of women and promote women empowerment. On Facebook one day she stated, “Some may not know but I am a travel agent and I own Unforgettable Getaways!! I’ve been working and thinking on a travel project which was inspired by my own life. For the last 8 months, I’ve tried to take a chance and get to know other ladies. 
Women with goals, drive, and ambition. So far, it’s been successful and I made most of these connections through FACEBOOK, yes Facebook! If you truly know me, you would know I have a passion for uplifting women and empowering those around me. Initially, I THOUGHT I wanted to host a “normal” Women Empowerment Luncheon with guest speakers, etc, however, my father said “ think bigger,” so I put my love for travel and my passion for uplifting others into one and came up with the Ultimate Friend Shot: Cruise Edition! This is my way of joining women together in a positive way while simultaneously providing them with the opportunity to see the world! I’d love to have at least 25 to 50 ladies to take a cruise with me in October 2019! If you don’t like fun and meeting new people THIS IS NOT THE TRIP FOR YOU !!! I only have 50 spots available so those who express interest first will get the slot.
Dope, right? Everything was all good for me but naturally, I wanted to know…
but then I saw my friends from undergrad signing up so me and Tiara, my best friend, decided why the hell not. It was my birthday the weekend prior and what better way to bring in the last year of my 20’s with a BANG AND with people I LOVE and adore. To be honest, ya’ll when I signed up, I didn’t know what to expect lol. I just wanted to turn up with my homegirls. Little did I know that FORTY women would sign up to cruise to Nassau and Freeport, Bahamas.

THIS TRIP WAS AMAZING.
The energy of all the women was so inviting and kind. There were so many of us that I, unfortunately, didn’t get to truly connect with everyone but I spoke to all at some point 
and I didn’t sense ANY bad attitudes, auras, or anything. Just literally good vibes the entire duration of the trip. Let me also say, WE TOOK OVER THE BOAT. From Karaoke to the club, WE.WERE. THERE, honey and they were vibin’ with us too. The highlight, however, was the women’s empowerment conference. Two of my dearest friends got to speak amongst three other phenomenal women and they provided us with SO MUCH KNOWLEDGE. Information on life as an entrepreneur, as a single mom, as a woman with an untraditional educational journey, and most importantly about God and having faith. It was the icing on the cake to an already remarkable experience.
We obviously got to explore but I won’t go into specific details of the Bahamas right now because you’ll be reading until tomorrow but before I go, I want to say to Zanetta, GIRL. You OUTDID yourself with that trip. I know how tough it must’ve been collecting money and making sure FORTY people were suited and booted to get on that boat back in October but YOU DID IT. I already know the singles cruise will be equally, if not more, lit but I CAN NOT WAIT for The Ultimate Friendshot Cruise – part TWO after you have that beautiful baby. I’m so so so proud of you for all that you’ve accomplished thus far in your career, collegiate and entrepreneurial, and I know you will only continue to do AMAZING things within the travel industry. KEEP IT UP.

It was truly a blessing to be able to have the funds to experience something to this magnitude. I’m so grateful I was able to take a vacation with my best friend and close friends for the first time collectively and I CAN’T WAIT until our next adventure.
